Drinking/drink, dancing/dance...when do I use it?

Hi!
I need help with the time -ing of the verbs.
I know that I have to use it ,when I describe an action that is hapening right now and when I describe an action I like....-ing,but there are other situations in which it is used without the verb to be.

When do I use the present time and when the -ing?

Hola eiren. Espero que estés bien.

Bueno, esta pregunta puede resultar un verdadero dolor de cabeza, porque en realidad no existe una "regla dorada" más que nada consiste en observar cómo se usan en situaciones determinadas a través de audios o videos. No hay otra fórmula que aprender practicando (¡y de memoria!) cuándo se utiliza -ing y cuando el infinitivo. Simplemente, no tiene lógica (como muchas cosas del Inglés). Así de simple.

Probablemente al momento de hablar cometas muchos errores, cosa que está bien, porque todos (incluyéndome) los cometemos, la cuestión es practicar lo suficiente para disminuirlos.

De todos modos te dejo una pequeña guía que encontré acerca del uso de ING y el del infinitivo. Repásala con frecuencia (eso es lo que yo hago) y verás que si practicas, tus errores serán cada vez menores.

La tabla consiste en una lista verbos y sus usos de con -ING e Infinitivo, te la recomiendo.

Nota: En realidad hay una regla para este caso específico: Siempre detrás de "before/after" el verbo se pone en -ing.

- I'll have lunch after studying English. Comeré después de estudiar inglés.
- You'll have to do it before running.Tendrás que hacer antes de correr.

Como puede apreciar en el Español usamos el infinitivo.

1. We use 'ing' when some we are doing that action on that same time,
por ejemplo : you are in a party and dancing with your friend.

2.We use 'ing' with past tense when we describe some action
por ejemplo : next day when u your mother ask you - where were you last night and what you were doing there ? (donde estuviste ayer por la noche y que hacías alli ?)
then you will say in english- Mom, I was in my friend's party and i was dancing all the night with my friends..

3. the most simple way to understand 'ing' is that use it to describe an action what a person is doing or recenly did..
ejm : he is sleeping
she is cooking
John went to a disco last night and when he saw me I was talking to Natalia.
